Short but gives a peek into the life of adventurers of the period. Brought the West into your living room☺
This book was poorly written. Considering it as a journal written by a young man, I was forgiving. Interesting times. I would have liked more specifics since I would have liked to relate family history to his adventures.

This story takes place in Colorado and Nebraska. History is best understood from those who actually lived through the events. An interesting true story that doesn't lose the reader.
This appears to be an authentic and believable author and book. The author's willingness to express his fears and failings as well as his courage aids in the believability of the writings. Very enjoyable reading.
This is one heck of a story, though I can't say I believe it all. He was kind of hard on the Indians, and I can't say they were one bit meaner than they had every right to be based on how they were treated and cheated and eventually defeated by man and time.
